Value Drug Mart / Properties Sports Association Spring Classic Bantam Tournament Hits 29 Years

One of the longest sponsored amateur sporting events in Canada will celebrate its 29th anniversary this March.

The Value Drug Mart / Properties Sports Association Spring Classic bantam hockey tournament runs from March 29 to April 1 in three venues across Calgary, including an all-star game and a skills competition held at the Don Hartman Centre on Friday, March 30.

The Value Drug Mart Spring Classic bantam hockey tournament started in 1983 through the organization of Properties Sports Association in Calgary and has grown to become one of the longest sponsored amateur sporting events in Canada.

Twenty-four teams from across Alberta participate in this event which features teams in a variety of tiers. Teams that are sponsored by a local Value Drug Mart store gain an automatic berth into the four-day tournament.

The tournament organizes teams into three different events (A to C) with the finals running on Sunday at the Don Hartman Centre in North East Calgary.

Registration is now open and will close on Monday, February 20.
